A health record the patient owns
A studio exploration, with no client behind it. Changing hospital often means telling the whole story a second time, from memory, at the moment you are least able to. This concept has the record follow the person rather than the facility, with no central store holding the whole of it.
This project is an internal studio exploration. It was not commissioned by a client and has not been deployed.
Context
Each facility keeps what it produced, and nothing more. Someone treated in several places ends up with as many partial records, and it falls to them to join the dots, from memory, at the admissions desk.
Challenge
A record the person carries is a record the person can alter. So it had to be portable and unforgeable at once, and readable by a caregiver even when the connection is missing.
Our approach
The patient holds the key, the facility holds the signature. Every entry is signed by whoever produced it and can be verified offline, without asking a server for anything. What travels is the person’s record, and no store holds it in full.
Result
A data model, a signature scheme and an interface flow. The concept stopped there: neither commissioned nor deployed.
